Abstract
This research examines the application of an asset-based approach in utilizing learning communities to improve the quality of learning at SMA Negeri Semarang. An asset-based approach focuses on identifying and leveraging existing strengths and resources within the school community to address educational challenges. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation and document analysis. The research results show that the asset-based approach is successful in improving the quality of learning through various strategies, such as collaboration between teachers, students and communities; development of relevant extracurricular programs; and empowering students in the learning process. The learning community that is formed involves various stakeholders, including parents, alumni and local organizations, who play an active role in supporting learning activities. Discussions in this research reveal that utilizing community assets not only increases student motivation and participation, but also strengthens the relationship between school and community. Implementing an asset-based approach enables the creation of an inclusive and collaborative learning environment, which ultimately improves student learning outcomes. These findings emphasize the importance of involving the community in efforts to improve the quality of education and suggest that this approach should be implemented more widely in other schools.
