Abstract

The current increase in number of dental study programs in Indonesia has increased quite significantly, according to data from the number of study program accreditations published by LAM-PTKes from early January 2019 to December 2019. The preparation of the dental curriculum is based on the Indonesian Dentist Competency Standards (SKDGI). SKDGI is structured by organizing competencies based on a general approach leading to a specific approach, namely domains, main competencies, supporting competencies and basic abilities. The importance of evaluation is that it is an assessment of good or bad and the impact on a system that is used as a tool for making decisions. This research aims to analyze and evaluate the dental education curriculum so that it can be used as a role model for Islamic dental education in accordance with the vision, mission and what has been planned with the results achieved by the dental faculty. This research has an evaluation model, namely the CIPPO model (Context, Input, Process, Product and Outcome) as an evaluation method. This research approach uses a Mix Method (combination) research type. Based on the results of research on the context aspect, it shows that the vision, mission and objectives of the faculty are in accordance with the higher education curriculum dentist competency standards and adapted to the needs of students. The input aspect shows that students, educators and infrastructure as supporting components are included in the outstanding category. The process aspect shows that the preparation of the Learning Implementation Plan document and the Learning Implementation Process are in accordance with applicable government regulations and are running very well. The product aspect shows that students' achievement index scores are included in the excellent category. The outcome aspect shows that the BUDAI achievement values and ICD application are good. It is hoped that this research can provide information about the implementation of the dental education curriculum so that faculties can improve the quality of learning, provide facilities and infrastructure, and increase the professionalism of supporting resources.
